Demon Seed Married to brilliant scientist and computer genius Dr Alex Harris, she has everything a woman could want... well, almost everything. Dr Harris has very little time left over for his beautiful wife. Once they separate, however, he spends all of his time with Proteus IV, the super-computer that can see, hear, talk, and even think for itself. Proteus immediately discovers a cure for leukemia, but when his creators deny him a terminal and the means to study human emotions, he becomes suspicious.
